93.5 - 93.8 HRA Tungsten Carbide Rod 310 mm, CO 6% made of 0.4 μm Ultrafine TC powder
Description:
Cemented carbide is a WC-CO composite which is made possible by powder metallurgy methods. It consists of wear resistant particles (the hard phase WC) bonded together by soft ductile phase (Co).
In applications which demand a high level of hardness combined with strength and toughness, tungsten carbide (WC) is the normal choice for the hard phase. Cobalt (Co) is usually chosen for the binder phase.
The grain size of the WC can be made to vary from 0.1 μm to 10 μm, over which fine control can be exerted.
The grain size for a particular application is an important variable which, together with the cobalt content, dictates the mechanical properties of the particular grade composition.
